Y'all, fall is in FULL swing in the Wasatch Front, and it is incredible. Between the maples turning a bright red, and the aspens an incredible yellow; the crispness in the air, the ability to wear sweaters and leggings once again; I don't know about you but I am truly living. I was lucky enough to be able to photograph Josh & Mikayla in this beautiful autumn weather, and I was so excited to share them with you that I skipped a few blogs in the queue to get these out into the world! A little champagne to warm up, a cozy blanket, and a whole slew of fun prompts to get them romping around, meant that even though it's a little cooler now, it's still pretty comfortable weather for a photography session (and that's not to say winter isn't a great time for images - you just need to prepare differently).
Josh & Mikayla met in Wisconsin and moved out to Utah together recently, so it was only fitting that they documented this season of their love with images in their new "home," y'know? We really wanted to complement that beautiful fall foliage, so I helped them style their session, and we were actually able to find everything they needed at the local thrift store! If you're putting together outfits for your session and just not coming up with anything you love from your own closet, I highly recommend thrifting to reduce your impact on the planet! Ready to dive in and feel all those cozy fall feels? Let's go!
Pretty incredible stuff, right? The fall colors are only here for a short amount of time each year, so each session I get to photograph while they're here feels so dang special. What frame was your favorite? Let me know in the comments! 👇
